Blue Stripes

Good Morning loves! Femi and I spent the past few days TREKKING the streets of Vegas and  touring surrounding hotspots. It is crazy, despite all I have heard about Las Vegas, I was not aware of the copious amounts of walking associated with the city! Since we were already nearby, we decided to tour the Hoover Dam (an engineering masterpiece, I tell you) and hiked along the spectacular Grand Canyon (even more walking. :)) A lovely trip and I look forward to our return in the coming years.

Stripes are wardrobe classics and can be seen as the neutrals of the print/pattern world (alongside leopard prints). Of course when talking stripes, they could be horizontal, vertical, wide or thin. There is a whole scientific concept (am not joking, science has been brought into this!) on the type of stripes to wear depending on your body type/desired look –  they advice vertical stripes to elongate your silhouette (perfect for petite ladies who’d love to appear taller) and horizontal stripes to create width/volume (this one is quite controversial). Oh well,…if you’re like me, you simply just buy what looks good on and whatever you can wear in confidence.

I purchased this shirt a few years back from Zara, but I noticed they have quite a variety of button-up striped shirts in stock now. My eyeballs are also fixated on this draped style one. For some reason, I am stalling making the purchase,…I guess I am hoping it goes on sale during their October/Thanksgiving store-wide sales. If it does and I purchase it, you bet I will be featuring the look on here.

I’d like to know, are you as hung up about stripes as I clearly am?
