I am glad to be back with an outfit post this week featuring one of my favourite clothing items – dresses! Honestly, if I could (i.e. lived in a location with weather conditions that permitted it), I will be in dresses all day er’ day! I love their feminine (duh!) nature, not to mention the fact that they make me feel like Emma Stone dancing in LaLa LandΒ (I am yet to watch this movie).

Now of course, dresses do come in all types, lengths and kinds, but time and time again I gravitate towards mid-length ones like the one in this post. I think I do so because aside from the fact that the mid-length makes it wearable to all social events, Sunday servicesΒ included, mid-lengths items easily come off as retro, simple-chic, which is what I hope for. Plus, I really do think it is tougher to dress up a mini-skirt/dress.

I picked this dress up at Zara recently, and already know it is going to be on heavy rotation over the next few months and years(!). It is backless, which makes it a perfect beach vacation wear or summer night out outfit paired with flat sandals. The possibilities are endless! For office purposes, I threw a blazer over it and placed a belt on my waist. Of course, this means I dare not/cannot take off the blazer at work regardless of how hot it gets! The lil’ price we pay…
