What to Wear Back to Work: Coloured Bottoms

Happy New Year, folks!

Who is excited for the new year?…I sure am! I look forward to dancing, rejoicing and sharing belly-laughs with family and friends. And of course, to continuing on this blogging path. Santa gifted me a camera, so I am excited about improved quality of pictures, not so much the steep learning curve associated with achieving those shots.

So, first post, huh ?! My debut post portrays a true minimalistic style – top, bottom, minimal jewelry!



Not too long ago, I purchased this top at Zara, and simply love the feminine and dainty nature of its lace! It reminds of the well-liked Self-Portrait styles by Han Chong, but without the $$$ of course! It is absolutely amazing what he creates with guipure lace. I have a friend’s Nigerian traditional wedding coming up and I intend to glean some ideas from his designs to come up with a style for my outfit. At the moment, my favourite from his various collections are:

About a year ago, I got into printed/patterned pants … and I am so glad I did. I find they add variety and character to any wardrobe. The key to pulling them off as a work wear without being “over-the-top” is to wear them with a solid-colored top – advisably, one of the colors on the pants.


I have had these pants for a while now. Whenever I have been asked where I purchased them, after responding with Zara, I make mention to add that Kate Middleton (Duchess of Cambridge) owns a pair too! 🙂 Talk about unsolicited information.
